It’s been a crazy NCAA football season, but it’s not over yet as the annual “Bedlam” game between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State figures to be a wild time. The Cowboys need a huge win to impress the computers and voters, and the only thing left is their state rivals, who were the preseason favorites for the national title.
Oklahoma Oklahoma State Odds – Saturday, 8:00 PM ET
The No.10 Sooners (9-2, 6-2 Big 12) were favored at price per head services coming into the season, but losses to Texas Tech and Baylor ended those hopes. OU is eighth in the country in points scored and quarterback Landry Jones is having a solid season, but losing receiver Ryan Broyles really hurts the Sooners’ chances. The defense is excellent, but the Sooners can be attacked through the air.
The No.3 Cowboys (10-1, 7-1 Big 12) have had time to recover from their crippling double-overtime loss to Iowa State (whom the Sooners beat on Saturday in Norman), but even though LSU and Alabama are running away in the standings, they know that a blowout of their rivals at least gives them a shot. Brandon Weeden leads an offense second in the country in scoring, but the defense can be soft.
Oklahoma State is a 3.5-point home favorite in Stillwater, where they are 1-4 SU and 2-3 ATS against the Sooners with four games going over the posted total. Expect a lot of points in this contest, but the OU defense will keep this from being a rout. Stay away from the spread as OU could keep it within a field goal, but Oklahoma State should grab an outright sports betting victory.
