A Preview of the 2012 Allstate BCS National Championship Game

The college football betting frenzy has finally reached the bowl games and the biggest bowl game of them all is the Allstate BCS National Championship game. Everyone knew that LSU was going to play in this game, but there were a lot of questions about who would finish second in the BCS standings and play in the championship game. The Alabama Crimson Tide would up beating out Oklahoma State for the right to play in the big game on January 9, 2012.

Even though LSU has already beaten Alabama once this season, the price per head sports experts have the betting line at only 1 ½ points in favor of LSU. One of the reasons that this game is picked to be so close is because the last meeting between these teams was close. On November 5, it took overtime for LSU to beat Alabama 9-6. With the talent available for both teams, this game could shift in either direction.

Regardless of which team you are cheering for, NCAA football fans have watched LSU pull out tough wins all season long. The Bayou Bengals have taken on every tough team in the NCAA ranks and beaten them all. While Alabama does possess a very strong offense and a hard-hitting defense, the LSU running game was able to get around the Alabama defense the last time these two teams played. This will be a good BCS championship game, but the LSU Tigers have been too good this season to bet against in the championship game.

Pick: LSU
